MILTARY VEHICLES

Our Urbex photo group discovered this military training area in the middle of Europe. Exercise and shots are not always practiced here. So we were lucky enough to be able to enter this area on a quiet day. We found two single-engine fighter planes from the Cold War era there. The wreckage of a Leopard 1 main battle tank and many automobiles were also used as targets.  Since the driving distance is very long and I won't be visiting this location in the near future, I replaced the sky with a photo editing program. I hope you like the photos!

 F-84 Thunderstreak

The Republic F-84 was a single-engined mid-wing fighter aircraft. It was manufactured by the Republic Aviation Company in 3 different versions: F-84B/C/D/E/G Thunderjet with unswept wings, F-84F Thunderstreak with swept wings and RF-84F Thunderflash reconnaissance aircraft. The Republic F-84F Thunderstreak is the latest member of one of the West's most important fighter-bomber series. Of the 2,700 aircraft built, about half saw service with the NATO Air Force in the 1950s and 1960s.

Leopard  Main Battle Tank

The Leopard 1 is a German main battle tank. It was the first tank developed in Germany after World War II. Overall, he was used in 13 countries on five different continents. Since 1965, the LEOPARD 1 has been manufactured in a total number of over 4,700 and is still in use today in nine countries on five continents. This tank is a shooting target at a military training area in Europe.

Cars on the military training area

These automobiles, pickups and transporters are lined up one behind the other on the military training area. They are supposed to represent a military convoy and are used as shooting targets. Here they are, rusted, damaged and slowly being conquered by nature. Some cars have been painted white and piled into a heap to serve as paratrooper markers.
